January 2013 WEEKENDS

A lot of changes for weekends schedule as well.

1. Top Cat is BACK!!! Another classic is back, hopefully for real (remember the Wacky Races letdown). It will air on Sundays only, at 14.30. Ever since Boomerang CEE separated we only got one episode of Top Cat, during a weekend special called Cool Cats Club.

2. New show Skunk Fu airs at 08.50 & 04.55.

3. There are now big differences between Saturday and Sunday schedules in the afternoon and in prime time. Since Boomerang Cinema does not air on Sundays anymore we get a great line up of classic cartoons which makes Sunday probably the best day on Boomerang. From now on I will post separate schedules for Saturday and Sunday to keep it more simple.

January 2013 WEEKDAYS

Boomerang starts the new year with a whole new schedule, several new shows and a lot of changes, most of them good. Here's more details.

1. Puppy in My Pocket is GONE!!! What a great start to a new year, I was never a fan of this show and it never belonged on Boomerang. Plus it occupied three 30 minute slots so now we get 90 minutes more for better shows.

2. Cartoonito slots are changed a bit. Early morning slot is now from 07.00 till 08.20. Midday slot stays the same (11.00-12.45) while the evening slot is now 10 minutes shorter (17.00-19.15).

3. Boomerang Cinema still airs on Wednesday and Saturday but no longer on Sunday.

4. Skunk Fu joins the channel on January 1. This is probably the only news I don't like. Didn't like this show when it was on Cartoon Network plus it's not a classic and does not have a classic cartoon character. It airs weekdays at 13.40 & 04.55.

5. Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries join the channel on January 28. This was expected and a lot of us speculated that it could come in January, it will air weekdays at 10.35 & 16.35.

6. The Flintstones are back, in a decent weekday slot, in fact in prime time at 20.30 followed by The Jetsons at 21.00. Great evening line up.

7. Tom & Jerry get more better slots. Last few months classic Tom & Jerry have been sidelined in the schedule, especially with Tom & Jerry Tales joining the channel and getting several daytime slots. Classic shorts will now have two 15 minute slots, at 15.15 & 21.30. It's important to keep the classic shorts alive despite all the new versions of many classic characters.

8. Popeye is gone, not surprising considering the limited number of episodes they aired plus the fact they reduced it to just one short since last week.

If there are any changes between now and January I will update this post.

Christmas 2012 Schedule & Specials

This year, Boomerang CEE is putting a lot more effort into it's Christmas schedule, unlike the previous year when all we got was that 30 minute Pink Panther special. Here's what we'll get this year!

The Pink Panther special I mentioned, A Very Pink Christmas, will air on December 23. as part of Boomerang Cinema at 14.30.

 A Very Pink Christmas (2011)

Pink Panther and Big Nose establish rival Christmas tree businesses in their attempts to earn the purchase price for a mutually coveted luxury car. In the process, they inadvertently discover the true Christmas spirit of giving.

Tom and Jerry: Shiver Me Whiskers (2006)

When a treasure map ends up aboard Tom and Jerry's pirate ship they're the first to discover it. Naturally a chase ensues alerting their captain Red Pirate Rob that they have it. It's the map the pirate has been searching for since childhood when his pirate mother punished him and his brothers  by sending it to sea in a bottle. Now it's all his. Until his brothers find out, of course.

In an empty opera house, Jerry wishes for his chance to perform and magically his dream comes true. The little mouse is whisked away to an enchanted kingdom where anything is possible... candy forests, singing snowflakes, even the toys spring to life!  Unfortunately, a group of alley cats led by Tom, crash Jerry's party, kidnap the music box ballerina, and wreak havoc in the holiday kingdom. It's up to Jerry to set things right and send those mean old cats back to the alley where they belong. IMDB.com
